Yates Expedition Picket Review

I am a huge fan of the Yates Expedition Picket.  I’ve tried other pickets – such as the MSR T shaped picket – and experienced failure.  Its not that they bend or break but they slip out of the snow easily. The Yates picket is V shaped and in my experience this shape produces a superior anchor in the snow.

It is also very lightweight (the lightest picket I’ve come across), coated with a red paint (making it much easier to see when its sticking out of the snow than silver pickets as well as softening the edges of the picket so they don’t bite into your sling) and has a reinforced end to keep it from getting beat up when you are hammering it into the snow.

Conclusion:

The Yates Expedition Picket is reasonably priced for the best picket I’ve ever used.  What else could you ask for?
