Arc’teryx Atom LT Pants Review
October 24, 2013
The Arc’teryx Atom LT pants are one of the only pieces of clothing I use that contains synthetic insulation. I wanted a lower body insulation layer that could stand up to the weather. When I get wet it always seems that my pants get wetter than any other item I’m wearing. While treated down is a huge step forward for insulation it still isn’t quite as weather resistant as synthetic insulation.
These pants keep me warm in the nastiest conditions and can stand up to quite a bit of water, drying out quickly when given the chance. I like the full side zip so that I can put this on over top of my pants or ski boots with ease during lunch breaks or when we stop to set up camp. They are not the lightest insulated pant you can buy but they are on the lighter side of the spectrum.
There are lighter and warmer pairs of pants but these are the pants I use because I can tromp through the snow and not worry if a little bit seeps in.
